TAKUAN is dried daikon radish pickled in rice bran and salt, it is fermented food that has been pressed with a stone weight and matured.
Daikon radish is dried around two weeks under the sunshine in winter. Crunchy texture and UMAMI are increased by drying the daikon radish.
Our TAKUAN is made by Japanese traditional method that uses dried daikon radish.
Coloring, preservatives are not used and free from gluten. It is suitable for vegan, vegetarian.
Pickled daikon radish are perfect for salad, sandwiches, tacos or anything to top with.
Pickled daikon radish especially goes well with hot rice and alcoholic drinks such as SAKE, beer and also added as a garnish with meat, fish dishes.
