Grown at altitudes reaching nearly 2,300 meters above sea level the coffees of the Yirgacheffe region are prized for their sweet acidity, citric intensity, and peculiarity of flavour that mark them out against every other coffee. Whilst situated in the larger growing region of Sidamo, Yirgacheffe has itself been identified as its own micro-region, in order to mark out the exceptional quality of the beans and the producers that care for them.

The Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (OCFCU) is a small farmers owned cooperative, exporting traceable, fair trade, organic, UTZ, and RainForest Alliance certified coffees. These premiums are invested directly into local social projects, including schools, health posts and infrastructure.
