Amber liquor, fruity-citrusy aroma, and smooth deep muscatel sweetness.
Puttabong, or Tukvar as it is also known, holds the distinction of being the very first garden in the history of Darjeeling tea plantation, planted in 1852 by a pioneering Englishman known as Dr. Campbell, a civil surgeon.
In addition to being the oldest, Puttabong is also the largest tea estate in Darjeeling. Teas here can be grown at an altitude of 7,000 ft and are comprised of a combination of Darjeeling Clonal, Chinary bushes, and Clonal tea stock developed to thrive in the climatic conditions experienced in this vast estate.
There is a strong drive towards sustainable cultivation practices and an emphasis on producing high quality, safe tea.
Puttabong is Organic and Fair Trade Certified.
